BOISSON FRERE ET SOEUR AUXEY DURESS 2021

While the majority of Boisson’s wines come from Meursault, they produce a few other wines in neighboring villages such as Auxey-Duresses, where some of the very best values in Burgundy can be found. Its slightly unusual (and hard to pronounce) name has meant this village never really got the same exposure as some of its more prestigious neighbors. But make no mistake, Auxey-Duresses can deliver Chardonnay of real precision and character in the right hands.
The 2021 Boisson has a brilliant mineral core with a fine and flinty backbone. There is tremendous energy and drive here, you know from the first sniff that you have something serious in your glass. This is certainly one of the best values in Boisson’s line-up, and fans of Puligny-Montrachet and Meursault should take notice, wines of this pedigree don’t come around very often.
